Federal Court Opinions (also known as memorandum decisions) may be downloaded and viewed for free. See Opinions page for information to access opinions for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of New Mexico.

Copies of Transcripts
Rates vary by transcriber, but are subject to maximum rates established by the Judicial Conference. The conference has established six transcript categories based on delivery times and has set a maximum rate for each. Fees range from $3.65 - $7.25 per page. Costs for additional copies range from $.60 - $1.20 per page.

Case Information

The press and public can access case information for free by using the public computer terminals located at the Clerk's Office.

PACER
Case information may also be accessed by using PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records). This is an electronic public access service that allows users to obtain case and docket information from Federal Appellate, District and Bankruptcy Courts, and from the U.S. Party/Case Index. Electronic access is available by registering with the PACER Service Center, the judiciary’s centralized registration, billing, and technical support center at http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov

CM/ECF Media Accounts
The Court offers CM/ECF Media Accounts so that account holders may designate specific cases for which to receive e-mail Notices of Electronic Filing (NEFs) of case activity. This incorporates the same CM/ECF mechanism (e-mail configuration) as for attorney users, who may also designate cases other than their own for which NEFs are to be received.  PACER fees apply.

Use of Electronic Devices

No cameras, cellular telephones with cameras or recording capability, transmitters, receivers or recording equipment may be brought into or used in any courtroom or court environs. Attorneys and jurors who have cellular telephones with cameras are exempt from this prohibition. Laptops and tablets are allowed but only if the camera and recording features are not used. This rule does not apply to 1) a stenographic or recording device used by an official court reporter, trustee, other authorized court or United States trustee personnel; 2) equipment used during an investiture, ceremonial, or naturalization proceeding; 3) a tablet, or computer that includes a camera or audio recorder, if the camera/recorder is turned off; or 4) a device required because of a person's disability.
